We have just come back from a week filming in Saint Marlo, France, for the beginning of the Route Du Rhum with Highfield boats, capturing all of the action as 138, solo sailors embark on a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in tough conditions.
We headed out to France on Thursday evening to begin filming Friday in the race village, on the journey over, we realised that conditions in the English Channel were not ideal, but the atmosphere in the race village was simply electric. Over 2 million people visited the Route Du Rhum race village in Saint Marlo, and we had the pleasure of capturing this on the Friday. Below is a short video, showing the race village set up with Highfield Boats!
On Saturday as boats began to lock out, a call was made by the organisers of the event to postpone the start until Wednesday due to rough weather. Please give us more time to capture the race village atmosphere, and to do some pieces to camera as well as walkthroughs of boats.
On Tuesday, the vessel is locked out and we joined team Pip Hare Ocean Racing for this adventure! Finally, on the Wednesday we hit the water for the beginning of the 2022 Vendee Globe! Below are some of the shots from the event!
