Safety is always our top priority
The sea can be an incredibly dangerous environment and requires respect and thorough safety guidelines in order to ensure filming can be completed without incident.
Much of our filming takes place during rough weather and some of it at night. Through our CAA audited operations manual and strict risk assessments we have put in place measures to ensure the safety of our crew, clients, and the general public. All of our drones are fitted with failsafe safety systems and we have protective helmets, kevlar gloves and eye protection for landings and takeoffs aboard boats.
Specialists at sea
Being specialized in the marine industry has allowed us to focus on one sector and invest in safety equipment such as lifejackets, sea survival courses, first-aid courses and VHF radios for our team.
We also have £5 million worth of public liability insurance.

Operating procedures
We have strict operating procedures that are audited by the civil aviation authority to ensure the safety of everyone on our film shoots. We are also kept informed of regular safety bulletins from SKYWISE and the MCA. In addition we are members of both the PCA and ARPAS.
Specialist Equipment
As a Maritime specialist company we are pleased to own our own safety critical equipment. Along with our Helly Hansen pro gear and annually serviced Spinlock lifejackets we also own multiple VHF Marine radios and have specially adapted drones for safe operation at sea.
Fully licenced and insured
You know you are in safe hands when you choose Maritime Filming UK. We are fully licensed in 30+ countries to both an OA and GVC standard and have permission to operate under an OSC. Finally, we hold specific drone PL insurance for a minimum of £5 million.
Maritime Training
Our team has undergone and regularly refreshes training in both maritime and aviation sectors. We have Commercially Endorsed Powerboat Advanced skippers as well as all team members being trained in First Aid, Sea Survival, VHF SRC and a minimum of a PB2. Several of the team also hold ENG1 medical certificates. This ensures the safety of all of those on shoots at sea.
